Andrew’s Great Room
More than 40 percent of U.S. households struggle to afford essential needs, often facing difficult decisions and significant risk every day.
As part of MLK Week of Service, Marietta College invites students to take part in the Cost of Poverty Experience (C.O.P.E.) Simulation, a 2.5-hour, interactive learning experience that explores the lived realities of poverty through the eyes of real families.
This is not a lecture. Participants will engage in real-world decision-making, navigate complex systems, and gain a deeper understanding of the human and systemic impacts of poverty while honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Food Information
Breakfast will be provided. Lunch will be available through Izzy’s special event menu, with meal swipes accepted or purchase by cash or card. Participants may also bring their own lunch.
