C.O.S. Central Oregon Sportbike Scavenger HuntWhat is it?
A self-guided tour of some of the most iconic motorcycle rides and sights in Central Oregon.
At 7:00am On Saturday, July 26th a list of locations will be posted. Your goal is to go through this list and visit as few or as many of them as you like. At each location, you will take a picture and upload it to the event thread on Facebook with a hashtag that will be posted with the destination list. The day ends with a picnic/BBQ at Big Sky Park at 5:00-8:00pm There will be stories to tell and maybe some prizes to give out.
This is a group-encouraged event, but you can go solo if you like. The goal is to spend a day riding your own ride and seeing some great roads and places. There is no limit to the group size.
How many locations will there be? Let’s put it this way, it will be impossible for anyone to get them all in one day. Some will be near. Some will be far. Some will be silly. Some will be challenging. Some will be puzzles. You will be able to spend the day going to cool places, old and new.
The road you ride is up to you. There is no ‘best route’. Choose where you want to go, and then how you want to get there.
Rules:
1. Be safe. This isn’t a race. The only prizes will be given for those who complete the day safely. Our number one goal is to have a day with no break-downs, accidents, or tickets.
2. Ride your own ride. Choose your destinations based on what you can do safely. Don’t let anyone pressure you into riding beyond your comfort level.
3. Be respectful. We are on public roads and in the public eye. Be a good ambassador for the community.
4. Follow traffic laws. Once again, this is not a race, but rather a day to spend with friends doing cool things on motorcycles.
5. Start the day by logging or resetting your Odometer. There MAY be prizes for both most miles ridden in the day and least miles ridden.
6. At each location, you must take a new photo with your group and ideally your bike and upload it to the event thread with the ride hashtag. This proves that you found that location. Photos taken on other days DO NOT COUNT!
7. Make it to the end in time for the BBQ.
