Day 1: May 15th

We will kick off the first day of the summit with discussions about the role of government in fostering venture capital ecosystems. Venture capital (VC) plays a pivotal role in fostering innovation, driving job creation, and stimulating economic growth. However, the development of a robust VC ecosystem is not a spontaneous process. It requires a conducive environment that encourages entrepreneurial activities and risk-taking. This is where the role of government becomes crucial. The government plays a multifaceted role in fostering a venture capital ecosystem. Through its policies and initiatives, it can create a conducive environment for VC activities, stimulate the supply of and demand for venture capital, and facilitate collaborations that lead to innovation and economic growth. Therefore, the role of government is indispensable in the development of a thriving venture capital ecosystem.

This afternoon will provide a deep dive into Dutch government programs, an international comparison of various government programs, and case studies by renowned VCs. A must-visit for policymakers, practitioners, regulators, consultants, and others. It is part of the Dutch Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (NVP) 40th anniversary celebrations, marking 40 years of constructive dialogue with the government.

Day 2 - May 16th

The morning program of the second day will showcase a series of international keynote speakers. These speakers will unveil the latest insights from the perspectives of both academia and practitioners. The challenges and opportunities of embedding Corporate Venturing within the organizational fabric will be discussed. Strategies for collaboration with other corporations to enhance innovation with startups (Corporate Venturing Squads) will also be explored. Nexperia and Nowi will share their story of how Nowi continues its innovation journey after its acquisition by Nexperia from both corporate and startup perspectives. Additionally, a narrative from a corporate on shaping corporate venturing within their organization will be provided.

The afternoon sessions will deepen the exploration of these subjects through interactive workshops, enabling participants to further engage in dialogue and exchange experiences. The day will conclude with a debate focusing on corporate venturing and the impact of changing CEOs/leadership teams on the survival of the corporate venturing unit. Throughout the day, attendees will have numerous opportunities to network with corporate venturing professionals, policymakers, researchers, and venture capitalists. This summit stands out as a premier platform for networking and exchanging ideas with leading figures in the field.
