About this Event
Let’s celebrate together!
Join Coro Allegro, Boston’s LGBTQ+ and allied classical chorus, as we mark a truly special milestone — the release of our newest album, CORO ALLEGRO:
WE ARE HERE — with an album release celebration on Friday, October 24 at The Pryde Community Center in Hyde Park.
This powerful recording shines a spotlight on human rights through music, featuring:
- Kareem Roustom’s Rage Against the tyrant(s), a searing call for justice
- Eric Banks’ Aluta Continua: The Passion of David Kato Kisule, honoring the slain Ugandan LGBTQ+ activist
- Performances by GRAMMY®-nominated countertenor Reginald Mobley, along with baritone Ronald Williams and soprano Sonja Tengblad
Gather with friends and fellow music lovers for an evening of refreshments, conversation, and stories from the stage, as Artistic Director David Hodgkins and the composers share the journey that brought this extraordinary recording to life — a journey that spanned the challenges of the pandemic.
