The Musicians:
Karenza Lily-May is a young musician from Padstow playing a mixture of Celtic, Cornish and contemporary folk tunes. Performing on accordion and guitar with rhythmic stomp box accompaniment, she sings stories of people, land and sea — both familiar favourites and her own original compositions. A rising talent on the Cornish folk scene, she has performed at Cornwall Folk Festival and Lowender Peran.
Elizabeth Freeborn is a Cornish-born singer-songwriter whose ethereal voice and angelic tones transport audiences to realms of enchantment. With roots in folk, jazz and classical music, she performs on guitar, piano and Celtic harp. Elizabeth is passionate about re-igniting Kernewek through her original compositions and has released her album 'Emerald' — a 10-track experimental journey featuring the beautiful old Cornish language. She is also lead vocalist with acclaimed Cornwall-based band Wake the River, and part of the Treylva Collective's Cornish language revival project.
Anna Anise is a Cornish singer-songwriter whose modern folk music captures the spirit of her homeland — rugged, raw and deeply heartfelt. A graduate of the Endelienta Arts Cornish Language Residency, she weaves Kernewek into her carefully crafted songs. Anna is a founding member of Hireth, a four-part vocal harmony group singing in the Cornish language. Her recent EP 'Awakening' showcases her passion for blending traditional tunes with effervescent original narratives. She's toured extensively across the UK folk circuit and is currently a Churchill Fellowship research fellow.
