A little bit about our cause...

My name is Chanda and I was recently diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Late 2023, I found what was the size of a peanut M&M lump in my left breast. I had a mammogram and Ultrasound January 18th. After doing the mammo, I did the ultrasound where they called an additional doctor in, then sent me back for another mammogram. I knew there was a problem. I had a biopsy schedule for Feb 1st. By this time it was the size of a golf ball. After much digging, they got what they wanted. Feb 6th I got the call, it was cancer. I wasn’t told what kind. The next day the doctor calls started. Surgeon, Oncologist, General Practitioner and Obgyn. The Monday we went in and were told it was Triple Negative Breast Cancer. This is an aggressive cancer that has to be treated even more aggressively. I did about 8 tests in 2 weeks and by week three I was in Chemo. I have 16 rounds of Chemo, 9 rounds of immunotherapy, surgery to remove the lump and 4-6 weeks of radiation. Which is every day (m-f). This treatment plan will take a year to finish. I just recently finished my 12th and final round of my first regimen and about to start my second regimen. The tumor went from 46x38cm to 19x4cm. We are having amazing results. The chemo has knocked down my liver and killed my thyroid. Which I was told was a great sign that the chemo is working. But between chemo and the thyroid some days it’s so hard to get out of bed and stay out. I am so grateful for modern medicine and a team of doctors that are up to date with the new treatment plan for this type of cancer as it has changed in the last year and a half. I am so grateful for the team and their support. Thank you everyone.
