Formed by singer/guitar player Alec Cox and Drummer Jordan Biddison under “Lipstk” the band went through a shift in musical styling after bringing on Zayne Dweik and Michael Turner. With new friends and a new musical direction the group landed on “Cornfed”. A jab at their home state, Ohio and its endless pastures of maize, the change also symbolizes an acceptance of their roots. The upcoming live album release is full of close-to-heart details of Alec's last 10 years. “Dayton” expresses a complicated relationship with the singer's hometown while “Pity” laments the quickness of time passing and the desire to be still. The band writes with twang and charm, using a mix of complex song structures, paired with guitars that bend and slide melody. Cornfed finds musical roots in the likes of Elliot Smith, Pinegrove, and Hovvdy among others. Every show is a little different embracing help from the friends around them adding texture with more guitars, banjo, and occasionally harmonica, making every date a unique and intimate experience.
