The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Florida was first formed on July 6, 1830 in Tallahassee, where it remained until 1870 without a permanent structure. In the year of 1870, Grand Lodge was officially moved to the city of Jacksonville, still without a permanent home.
In 1891, property located at the corner of Forsyth and Bridge Street (later renamed Broad St) was purchased for our first Grand Lodge Building. On January 20, 1892, The Grand Master laid the cornerstone of our first Grand Lodge Building.
In 1907, the Grand Lodge purchased property located on the Southeast corner of Main and Monroe Streets. The cornerstone of our second Grand Lodge was laid on January 22, 1908.
On January 4, 1964, the Grand Master laid the Cornerstone of our third Grand Lodge building.
The Ceremony will start promptly at 12pm and will last approximately 45 minutes. Afterwards there will be an open house and refreshments.
