November 2023 saw the rebirth of City Hall Singers.
After a 15-year break, three former members, over a coffee break, resurrected the choir to try and re-connect staff and retirees, following the disconnect created by Covid 19. There was instant uptake and positivity amongst City Council employees and retirees, to restart the choir and now they continue to meet in the City Hall for their weekly rehearsal.
City Hall Singers consists of a SATB choir with twenty-six members. They have quickly become an integral part of staff engagement throughout the organisation and during the year have participated in many events such as work launches, a Valentines’ Event in the Grand Parade Library, City of Welcomes for visiting refugees, the Lady Mayoress’ Charity coffee mornings, Culture Night, Christmas events and launches and most recently The Lord Mayor’s Gala Concert.
Last year the choir entered its first competition!
It was the first time on stage for many of its members. They were delighted to be placed 2nd in the IBEC Workplace Choir of the Year Competition.
The City Hall Singers will entertain you all with a few romantic and valentine day’s themed musical pieces.
