Core Concepts of Tantric Yoga Workshop with Angie

This workshop is open to all: partner practice is inclusive and not just for couples.
We will learn about the core concepts of Tantra yoga, why we practice in pairs and all the benefits.
Tantric Yoga is a holistic, spiritual system that integrates physical practices, energy work, and conscious awareness to awaken one’s inner power (Shakti) and unite with the universal consciousness (Shiva). It blends traditional yogic tools - asana, pranayama, mantra, meditation - within a sacred framework of ritual, devotion, and energy cultivation.
✨ Asana (Posture)
* In Tantric Yoga, asana isn’t merely for flexibility or strength - it’s a ritualised tool to activate energy centers(chakras), balance masculine/feminine forces (Shiva/Shakti), and prepare the body for deeper states of consciousness.
* Postures are often held with intention, mantra, and awareness of energetic flow (prana).
* Focus is on energy alignment, not just anatomical perfection.
✨ Movement
* Tantric movement goes beyond static asana. It incorporates:
* Kriyas: dynamic actions to awaken energy and clear blockages.
* Mudras: hand gestures or full-body seals that redirect prana.
* Spontaneous movement: organic, intuitive movement that arises from inner energy (often seen in Kundalini or Shakti practices).
* Movement is meditative, intentional, and energy-based.
✨Breath (Pranayama)
* Pranayama in Tantra is a primary vehicle for awakening and directing prana.
* Practices such as nadi shodhana (alternate nostril), kapalabhati, or bhastrika are used to purify channels (nadis) and activate kundalini.
* Breath is often combined with bandhas (energy locks) and mantra to intensify energetic effects.
✨Key Practices of Tantric Yoga
1. Mantra: Sacred sounds that align consciousness with divine frequencies.
2. Yantra: Geometric symbols used in meditation to focus and invoke specific deities or energies.
3. Chakra Work: Activating and balancing the seven primary energy centers.
4. Ritual (Puja): Invoking sacredness in daily life and honoring deities or archetypes.
5. Meditation: Especially Dhyana and Trataka, often on light, deity forms, or inner energy.
6. Sexual Tantra (in some lineages): Used not for pleasure alone but as a sacred act of union—always with ethics and deep respect.
