The Cordillera Mountain Ultra is a showcase of the beauty of the Pine Clad mountain forests of the Cordillera Region. Situated on the southern slopes of Mt. Ugo in the town of Itogon the Cordillera Mountain Ultra will feature events: The 50km Ultra Marathon, 21km Mountain Run, 2km Kiddie Trail, 10km and 5km trail run, and a Vertical KM and Canicross run

50km Cordillera Mountain Ultra:
The 50km Cordillera Mountain Ultra will traverse around Mt. Ugo in Benguet. Topping out at 2150m it features long ridge lines covered in Pine forests as well as superb views of the West Philippine sea, the entire Agno River Valley as well as the Cagayan Valley of Nueva Vizcaya.

How to get to Tinongdan, Itogon:
Here is our recommended route to get to the race venue:
1. Fly in to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila
2. Take a taxi or Grab to either the Victory Liner Bus Station in Pasay or Cubao. The Taxi/Grab ride should cost between P200-P300 only. It is approximately 5kms away for Pasay and 13kms away for Cubao.

3. The trip to Baguio via Victory Liner First Class bus costs approximately P800 and will take approximately 5 hours or less.
4. Once arriving in Baguio you have several options for public transportation to go to Tinongdan:
-Jeepney from the Jeepney terminal of Tinongdan beside Jollibee along Magsaysay avenue. The cost should be less than P50-100/person and should take about 1 hour –There is only one jeep a day that departs after lunch when full so you need to be there earlier.
-Taxi hire: A taxi rental from the city to Tinongdan should cost approximately P1000-P1500 and should take between 1-1.5 hours. Best to split the fare between 4 people.
-We will arrange a jeepney from Baguio City on Saturday December 9 in the morning going directly to Tinongdan for a small fee.
5. The venue is at the Tinongdan Elementary School right in the heart of the village.

Mandatory Gear 50k and 21k, 10k:
1. Fully-charged working mobile phone containing the number for emergencies It is required that the mobile phone is on at all times during the duration of the race.
2. Headlamp and/or flashlight with battery power to last for at least 8 hours. Runners will not be allowed to continue unless this piece of gear is produced for their own safety.
3. Water carrier (bladder, hand-held bottles, etc.) with volume of at least 500ml for VK and 10k and 1,500ml for 50kms and 21kms.
4. Water cup – Please be reminded that the aid stations will not provide water cups to protect the trail and you should not drink from the bottles! Crew will be advised not to serve any drinks unless water cups are presented by runners.

7. 1500-2000 calories of food for those running the 50k and 500 calories for VK, 10k, and 21k.

GENERAL FAQs
1. Are the race kits transferrable? NO. We have stated this clearly on our site. You cannot sell your race kits to other people or transfer them to friends.
2. Kit claiming will only be done up to a day prior to the race in Tinongdan Elementary
4. What happens if a friend runs in my kit? They will be disqualified and you will be on our list for bad behavior.
5. Will there be a gear check? Yes but not at the starting line. We will have a random gear check at one of the aid stations where you will be asked to produce at least one random item out of the required equipment.
6. Is there parking? Yes there is parking in Tinongdan.
7. Are the roads paved? Yes the roads are paved all the way.
8. How long does it take from Baguio? Approximately 1 hour to 1.5 hours.
9. How much does it cost to hire a taxi to Tinongdan? It costs roughly 1000-1500 pesos one way. 25kms.
10. Is the water pottable? Yes the water comes directly from a clean mountain spring. For the aid stations we will be treating the water to make sure that it is safe for all runners.
11. What happens if i arrive after gun start? We will allow you to run, but pray that you reach the cut off time or else you might just get a hug from us at the finish. ?
12. Can we take a picture with Pacha at the Start/Finish? YES.

Q1: Where is Tinongdan?
A1: Tinongdan is a small village approximately 20kms in Itogon from Baguio City or 1.5 hours away over a paved road.

Q2: Where can i stay near the venue?
A2: There will be numerous homestays available near the venue which you can reserve before hand. They will cost from 150-300 pesos per person per night. You may also camp in the school grounds or sleep in the school for a small fee. If staying in Baguio we have partnered with the Podium Boutique hotel to offer you a seamless race experience.
Q3: Is there food at the venue to purchase?
A3: Yes food is available to be purchased in the different small stores in Tinongdan and also at your respective homestays. Please note though that there is a limited variety of food so if you have certain food restrictions or if you are Buddhist, Muslim, or a faith which will require a certain type of food please bring your own meals or ask your host if you can use their kitchen to cook.

A8: Registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable. Refund is not available in case of cancellation or postponement of the race due to fortuitous events or factors beyond the control of the race organizer.

A12: Yes the race route is fully marked and there will be marshals across the entire race course.
Q15: How much water should i bring?
A15: We recommend at least 1.5-2 Liters of water per person as this is a semi self supported race and participants should expect at least 10-15kms between certain aid stations.
Q16: How much nutrition should i bring?
A16: We recommend at least 1000 calories in order to get you through from the start to the finish. The aid stations will not have meals just light snacks so if you will need rice best to bring it with you as well. What we recommend is to bring energy dense food like nuts, cheese, dried meat, and olive oil, gels, and butters.

A18: The average mean time for most finishers is 9-11 hours for the 50k, 4 hours for the 21k, and 1.5 hours for the VK

A19: No unregistered pacers are allowed unless they also register as a participant.

A20: They can wait at the finish line in Tinongdan Elementary School

Please be patient in reserving your accommodation with them. They might sometimes have difficulty in accessing cellular network in the village.
Please understand that this are simple lodgings and also the homes of the villagers so do not expect hotel level accommodations when it comes to the homestays as this is their first time hosting CMU in their village.

1. Please be advised that the signal in the area is unstable. You may not be able to reach them or they may not be able to respond to you immediately.
2. Source of drinking water – spring water, filtered water also available upon request

FAQs about the Vertical KM:
1. What is the minimum pace for me to finish the Vertical KM? The minimum pace to finish the VK within 2 hours is 10m of ascent per minute.
2. What shoes do you recommend for the VK? We recommend aggressively lugged shoes.
3. How much water should i bring? If you have the time to drink we recommend 500ml of water. If you are fast and aggressive 250ml will do.
4. How many aid stations will there be? 1 water stations at the finish line
5. Is there an intermediate cut off? No but after 2 hours and some appreciation of the beautiful sunrise and view we will be heading down and wherever you are on the mountain you will need to head down with us as well.
6. Is there transport from the mountain in case i bail out? NONE. You will need to walk back down.

8. How hot will it get? Depends on how much you push your heart rate. But generally it won't be more than 25C at the top and sometimes 18C so it may be chilly.
9. I joined the VK because it is the shortest race during the CMU at just 5kms, how hard is it? VERY HARD! Plus you will need to walk back down to the village after you cross the finish line so total distance is 10kms of pure fun.
10. Where is the best spot for posing for the photographer? Best spot is at 800m and 3kms and of course at the finish line.
11. Will i get a patch if i finish after 2 hours? NO, but we will give you a hug, some pandesal and some hot good roast coffee to perk you up.
FAQs on the 21k course:
1. What is the minimum pace for me to finish the 21k course within cut off time? The minimum pace for the 21k course is 3kph or 16 minutes per km it will get you to the finish in 10 hours or less.
2. What shoes would you recommend for the 21k course? We recommend using the Hoka Torrent or shoes with minimal lugs for the course of the 21k.
3. How much water should i bring? The minimum water required is 500ml but as it will be a hot day we recommend bringing at least 1Liter of water especially if you are a midpack to backend runner.
4. How many Aid stations will there be? 3 Aid Stations
5. Is there an intermediate cut off? No, there is no intermediate cut off for the 21k.
6. Is there transport from the mountain in case i bail out? The only area for extraction for the 21k will be only at KM 15 in Anuvang

8. How hot will it get? Temperature will range from 15C in the morning to 40C in the daytime.
9. In case of cramps will you have anti-cramp spray? There is no cure for cramps except for proper training and hydration, we will have some ointment from Messy Bessy in several aid stations but this is no guarantee that your cramps will go away.
10. Will i get a patch if i finish after cut-off time? NO. But we can give you a hug. ?
FAQ's on the 10km , 5KM Course and Canicross
1. What is the minimum pace required to finish the 10km course: 2.5kms per hour which is walking pace for you to finish within the cut off time of 6 hours.
2. What shoes would you recommend for the 10km course: We recommend the Hoka ATR5 or the Hoka Torrent for doing some of the hardpack and loose gravel sections on the course.
3. How much water should i bring? For those doing the 10km 500ml should do for those with dogs doing the Canicross you should bring at least 1L of water for both you and your dogs.

5. Is there an intermediate cut off: No intermediate cut off for the 10km and Canicross.
