Come and meet a great prelate. Hear great sacred music in the context for which it is intended: to worship God. Pray for the souls of the homeless, the refugees, and the displaced who have suffered and died, a work of mercy. Lift your soul with the beauty of sacred music by one of the great living Catholic composers.
The Requiem for the Forgotten includes a new hymn "Offertory for Ukraine" with text by poet-in-residence James Matthew Wilson. This hymn honors the Catholic martyrs and white martyrs persecuted under Soviet Communism.

Our Sunday Visitor:
About Frank La Rocca's Requiem for the Forgotten
In November 2021 Archbishop Cordileone celebrated a Requiem for the Homeless, commissioned from Frank La Rocca through the Benedict XVI Institute in San Francisco. He has since broadened the idea of homelessness to include those who are displaced and die whether from poverty, natural disasters, pogroms, or war. Praying for the souls of the dead is a work of mercy. He invited poet-in-residence James Matthew Wilson (whom Dana Gioia calls "the future of Catholic letters in America") to craft a hymn text for the martyrs of Ukraine persecuted under Soviet Communism.
Our Grammy-Award-winning recording team led by Blanton Alspaugh recorded this Mass with our premiere choir (Richard Sparks, conducting) in August of 2023. On March 15, the date of this Mass celebration, the new recording of Requiem for the Forgotten will be released by Cappella Records. Our first recording of Frank La Rocca's "Mass of the Americas" debuted at number one on the Billboard charts for traditional classical music.
Praise for Frank La Rocca, Composer
"The California-based composer...writes music unmistakably inspired by liturgical chant and the masters of the Renaissance and Baroque, but filtered through a musical sensibility informed by the works of 20th-century modernists: beauty ever ancient, ever new." Fanfare
"If you make it your business to keep track of the very finest contemporary sacred choral music, La Rocca is a composer you simply MUST get to know." American Record Guide
"The best piece of liturgical music for the Mass since Duruflé." Dr. Michael Linton
