Winners of the 2024 Nico Toscano Young Musician Competition perform as soloists with Cordancia Chamber Orchestra on this program from Brazil.Also featuring capoeira music and games with com Expressão, a Rochester based academy which teaches and performs capoeira, which combines martial arts with music and dance. https://www.comexpressao.com

O Martírio dos insetos (the Martyrdom of Insects) by Heitor Villa-Lobos (1887-1959), edited by Ricardo Averbach, with Leona Liu, violin soloist, competition winner
Elegia for tuba and string orchestra by Fernando Morais (b. 1966) with Addie Canning, tuba, competition winner (her own arrangement of this piece which was originally written for trumpet)
