For the time being, the class will be called "Cordage Sampler" with Craft Educator, Dani Sanchez
Duration: 3 hours
We will sample three natural materials: Willow (Of course), Cattails, and Basswood
The students will have the opportunity to practice the cordage technique on these three materials and should come away with enough rope to make a bracelet with a naturally dyed willow bead.
Skills learned: Plant identification, primitive survival skills, knot tying, natural dyeing with indigo
Tools needed: Clipboards (would be helpful), tape, wood saw, hand drill, safety glasses, container to rehydrate plant matter
