About this Event
Is your masterpiece protected? Whether you are a painter, sculptor, writer, or digital artist, you’ve worked hard on your art. Copyrights exist to protect your work and make sure that no one else takes advantage of your creations. Oregon Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts will lead a conversation about copyright law and show how copyrights can help develop your business and protect your work, whether preserving it for future generations or protecting it from unlicensed reproduction. There may also be discussion of copyrighting artworks in the age of artificial intelligence.
Note: Some aspects of copyright law are different for musical works and performances. This workshop will focus mainly on copyright law as it applies to fixed visual and written work. There will still be useful information and resources available for musicians, however.
