Copy of Slieve Commedagh Hike

Hike up Slieve Commedagh 2nd highest mountain in the Mournes. Hike Begins at Donard Carpark Newcastle. From here we head up along the Glen river, Weather permitting we should get some nice views over Newcastle, during the Hike we shall take in Some of the History along the way. On reaching the iconic Mourne wall we will continue up towards the tower of Slieve Commedagh. If we are making good time we will take in some more of the lesser know sites on the way up. After reaching the tower we turn out towards the summit carn before heading back down into the valley and to the carpark.

All participants must have reasonable fitness, come appropriately dressed for a day of hiking no jeans allowed. Make sure you bring plenty of warm clothing, waterproofs, a lunch, snacks and water a small flask containing a hot drink is recommended.

Walk is led by qualified mountain leader.
