About this Event
An Iliad presented by True North Theatre Company!
by Lisa Peterson and Denis O’Hare
based on Homer’s The Iliad, translated by Robert Fagles
True North Theatre Company brings high quality, professional theater directly to audiences, especially to those with limited access to the arts.
We perform where the audience is. Often in cafeterias, meeting rooms, gyms, libraries with the audience seated around the performance.
We provide a blend of traditional ticketed public performances and free community partner performances throughout the region to reduce barriers to participation. Regardless of when and where the performance is, we put on the same show for everyone.
We do this because we believe theater is richer when everyone is in the audience, and everyone deserves to see great art.
This in person event will take place at 134 Collaborative in the Mathewson Street United Methodist Church, 134 Mathewson Street, Providence, RI 02903.

About An Iliad: The war in Troy is over – and the Poet saw it all. Back from the front lines, they spin a tale of unquenchable rage, disputatious gods, and grieving widows. An Iliad weaves humanity's unshakeable attraction to warfare with the music of the muses, capturing the contradictory conditions of glory and violence.
