Join CU Manager of Programming, Taylor Gibson for a long-form workshop on the basics of copper plate intaglio. During the workshop, you'll learn how to prep a plate, methods of etching using ferric chloride, how to operate a printmaking press, and the basics of fine art printmaking curation. Come see example prints, learn a bit about the history of intaglio, and leave with your own edition of intaglio prints. All materials and lunch provided!
Jacob Taylor Gibson is a multidisciplinary artist based in Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), working in printmaking, ceramics, sound art, and installation. Originally from Lafayette, Louisiana, he earned a BFA in Printmaking from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and an MFA in Studio Art from the University of North Texas. He currently serves as Programs Manager at The Cedars Union, a nonprofit supporting DFW artists. His work has been exhibited nationally as well as internationally in Italy and Australia and is included in many publications and collections.
