About this Event
Come make a rose for a loved one, gift the course to them, or come together for a unique date night or anniversary.
The rose is a timeless symbol of affection… and a wilt-proof copper rose is even more timeless! Using hammers to shape the petals, your energy and dedication is literally imprinted on the surface of the copper in each hammer mark.
We will walk you through all of the steps for creating your own life-sized rose. You will learn how to solder using a torch, and how to shape copper using specialized hammers and tooling. We will observe images of roses together and pin down exactly which characteristics help the flower look natural and relaxed, and imitate some of them as we shape our own roses in order to capture the beauty of the flower frozen in time.
This is one day course.
Class runs from 9am-5pm. All materials, safety equipment, coffee and tea will be provided. Lunch is available in town / an indoor lunch area with a microwave and fridge is provided on site if you bring your own food. Please wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
