Join us for a mesmerizing concert as the Ukiah Symphony and Music Director Phillip Lenberg present a beautiful program celebrating American composers. Experience a depiction of the American frontier with Aaron Copland's iconic "Appalachian Spring". We are thrilled to welcome back mezzo-soprano Melinda Martinez Becker, soloist in John Corigliano's moving "Fern Hill". This piece, inspired by the poignant words of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, will transport you through lyrical landscapes filled with emotion, enhanced by the Mendocino College Chorale, directed by Janice Timm.
Our program will also showcase the powerful "Escucha" by Carlos Cordero, a stirring work for choir and orchestra that resonates with passion for the natural world. And don't miss Samuel Barber's "Adagio for Strings", a piece that has touched the hearts of many with its hauntingly recognizable melody.
