About this Event

One year after the 26th UN Conference of Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, world leaders, policymakers, and scientists, prepare to convene in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt for the 27th UN Conference of Parties (COP27). At COP27, leaders will negotiate reductions in global carbon emissions to limit global warming to 1.5°C; plot a course towards equitable and sustainable futures for developing and developed countries alike; preserve biodiversity and prevent deforestation; and advance climate policy more generally. In this panel, we consider the current state of global climate policy, politics, and negotiations, highlighting progress from COP26 and opportunities for improvement ahead in COP27. Cambridge Zero are excited to welcome the following panelists to share their insights:

Joycelyn Longdon, PhD Student in Computer Science

Friederike Hartz, PhD Student in Geography

Mya-Rose Craig, Ornithologist, Author and Activist

James Miller, VP Cambridge Climate Society

Ronita Bardhan, Associate Professor in Architecture

Moderated discussion will run from 18:00-18:40, followed by Q&A from 18:40-19:15 and informal networking until 19:30.
