Let your little ones make a special chocolate treat with chocolatier, Ava! This class is super engaging and hands-on (even a little messy)! Kids learn about the origin of cacao and how chocolate is made. They'll leave class with a special treat, but we can't guarantee they'll share it with you!
Recommended for ages 4 - 12. Please register each child attending the class. Children must have an adult present with them at all times, but the adult does not register for the class. Class is limited to 12 children.
About the Instructor - Ava Holmes
Former Ithacan has spent the past 7 years studying cacao and living in the lower Peruvian Amazon. Her journey with cacao started with a profound love for nature and desire to help heal cacao’s relationship with the earth (chocolate is one of the leading causing of agricultural deforestation in cacao-fertil lands such as Peru). This lead her to open a center of investigation surrounding cacao and it’s many socio-environmental influences, both ancient and modern—including what she calls a “mesmerizing” and deep dive into cacao’s therapeutic and medicinal uses today. She looks forward to sharing her story and a few exciting secrets about the transformative power of quality cacao that could change your relationship to chocolate forever.
