About this Event
Do you like reading comics and graphic novels? Would you like to learn how to create your very own comic? Then join us as we explore the creative process behind this literary art form! Practice your drawing skills and develop a story to go along with your art. To celebrate Silicon Valley Reads, we will be discussing comic book robots.
Materials will be provided. This club meets monthly, every third Thursday. For children in grades K-5. Space is limited, and attendance is on a first-come, first-served basis.
We strongly encourage parents of younger children to be present to assist their child if needed.
Silicon Valley Reads is a community engagement program that features books and an annual theme to bring people together by providing more than 100 free, public events each year in February and March. Events for all ages include author talks, book clubs, art/music events, community activities, arts and crafts, movies, and creative events or activities based on the theme each year.
The theme this year is "Empowering Humanity: Technology for a Better World." We will learn from those on the forefront of the AI movement, explore ways in which technology impacts our daily lives and future, address questions related to ethics, and discuss how we can create a positive impact using the tools that are rapidly becoming accessible to each of us. We hope you will join us for these important learning opportunities and conversations.
Your attendance to this program grants permission to the City of Santa Clara to take your photograph and/or your child's photograph for marketing purposes.
