About this Event
Visit the Training Kitchen at Fur Clemt as our tutor, Katy, teaches you how to make a variety of tasty and filling meals.
Whether you are cooking for one, or a big family, we'll help you to make the most of your money, as we show you how to prepare, cook and store your meals using store cupboard essentials and a variety of food available via Fur Clemt's Food Share Scheme.
You'll learn how to -
1. Measure ingredients and adapt a recipe for different numbers, so that you can cook with confidence.
2. Prepare a variety of fresh ingredients and combine them with store cupboard essentials.
3. Cook food in a variety of ways - baking, steaming, frying, stewing, etc, for maximum flavour.
4. Improvise in the kitchen, so that you can adapt recipes when certain ingredients are available.
5. Stretch your money and your ingredients to make meals that are tasty and filling.
Whether you're a complete novice in the kitchen, or a seasoned chef, you'll be welcome to join us for a class to learn and develop your skills. Our Training Kitchen is a safe and inclusive space where we meet to share our love of cooking and enjoying a delicious meal.
Please note: You'll need to be enrolled on our Keeping It Together (KIT) Project, 16+ and resident in Greater Manchester in order to access this class/course for free.
