Join us for an exciting homeschool culinary adventure as we visit one of America's most iconic landmarks, the Statue of Liberty, through our Cooking Across America's Landmarks series! In this special class, we will explore the vibrant food culture of New York City and create some of its most beloved dishes with a unique Statue of Liberty twist.
During this hands-on cooking class, young chefs will learn to make:
Liberty Apple Pie
Celebrate the Statue of Liberty with a classic American dessert that symbolizes freedom and home: a delicious, spiced apple pie with a flaky crust. This timeless recipe will teach students the art of making a perfect pie dough, preparing a flavorful apple filling, and baking it to golden perfection.
New York Style Hot Dogs
Serve up New York's iconic street food with a twist: hot dogs topped with mustard, sauerkraut, and onions, resembling the torch of Lady Liberty. Students will learn how to cook and assemble these tasty hot dogs, perfecting the balance of flavors and textures that make this dish a New York favorite.
This class is designed for homeschool students ages 6-15 and provides a unique opportunity to learn about the history and culture of New York through its cuisine. Our experienced chefs will guide the students through each recipe, teaching essential cooking techniques and kitchen safety.
At the end of the class, students will enjoy their culinary creations together, celebrating the flavors of New York City!
