Join Stacy for a Cook, Share & Care on Monday, January 5, from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM.
This program is designed for adults with an IDD who have aged out of the public school system.
During each session of Cook,Share, Care participants will prepare meals for local charities and then enjoy sharing one together. On January 5, . We'll make two meals of Baked Tacos for Second Story, a Vienna-based nonprofit that provides safe havens and opportunities for local youth and families in need. We'll make a third meal of Baked Tacos that we can enjoy together. We'll also make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the Embry Rucker Community Shelter in Reston.
Stacy brings years of experience as the former Program Director at the Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia, where she created the DSANV Cooking Club. She uses adapted tools and strategies—including easy-to-follow pictorial recipes, cut-proof knives, and electric skillets—to ensure the cooking process is safe, fun, and accessible for everyone.
