About this Event
Convicted but Innocent: An Evening with Kristine Bunch
Join the South Carolina Innocence Initiative as it hosts a powerful event featuring Kristine Bunch, one of approximately 300 women in the U.S. who have been wrongfully convicted and later exonerated. In honor of Wrongful Conviction Day, Kristine will share her harrowing account of 17 years of imprisonment for a crime she did not commit, along with her journey advocating for justice reform since her exoneration in 2012. Kristine’s story also highlights unique challenges faced by women in the justice system, particularly as it concerns access to healthcare. South Carolina attorney Jim Morton will provide commentary afterward. A reception will follow.
This event will take place at the Harley Room, Richardson Physical Activities Bldg, Wofford College.
