About this Event
Welcome to Conversations to Build Inclusion and Belonging in Design with the NKBA NorCal & ASID CalPen!
Join us on Tue, Apr 08, 2025 at 5:30 PM for an engaging event at the San Francisco Design Center. This event aims to foster a sense of inclusion and belonging within the design community.
Connect with fellow designers, share insights, and learn from industry experts on how to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all. Let's come together to inspire and empower each other to make a positive impact in the world of design.
At the event, we will break out into smaller groups and participants will have a chance to reflect, share and learn from each other.
The topics for the Break out Discussion Sections will be:
- Imposter Syndrome – Entering the design industry as a student/emerging professional can be a challenge, how do we navigate this with community?
- Design as a 2nd Career – Age vs. Experience? Formal Education vs. Self-taught?
- Different jobs in the design industry – What are the opportunities to consider? Is there only one path?
- Navigating tough discussions – How do you handle challenging situations and people?
Choose the topic that you want to build a community for yourself. This is all about developing supports and understanding through open sharing and listening.
AND AFTER the roundtable discussions, Join us in the Rigg's Distributing showroom for networking and refreshments and to see all that Rigg's has to offer.
