For Talk Money Week 2025 the Money and Pensions Service are working in partnership to build financial confidence across Northern Ireland
About this Event

Join the Money and Pensions Service this Talk Money Week 2025 as we come together to #StartTheConversation about financial wellbeing in Northern Ireland.

This in-person event in the Long Gallery in Stormont will explore the collective progress we have made since the launch of the UK Financial Wellbeing Strategy in 2020 and how we can continue working together to create better financial futures for everyone.

About the event

Since launching the UK Financial Wellbeing Strategy, the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) has worked with visionary leaders and partners across Northern Ireland to drive meaningful change. Together, we have made important progress under the five Agendas for Change:

  • Financial Foundations
  • Nation of Savers
  • Credit Counts
  • Better Debt Advice
  • Future Focus

At this midway point of the ten-year strategy, this event will showcase the achievements made through collaboration and shared commitment. Attendees will gain insights into the cross-cutting themes of mental health, gender and workplace wellbeing, and explore how these shape our approach to improving financial outcomes for individuals, families and communities.

We will also share highlights of our work alongside local government partners, supporting anti-poverty strategies and action plans across Northern Ireland — demonstrating how collective effort can make a real difference to people’s lives.

Talk Money Week 2025

This is our yearly campaign encouraging people to have more open conversation about their finances – from pocket money to pensions – and to continue these conversations all year-round.

We invite organisations across the country, including employers, financial services and educators, to get involved with activities and events. It all helps people to feel more confident talking money – which is often the first step to a better financial future.

2025's theme is 'Start the conversation'

We want people talking about money openly and with confidence, whether it’s:

  • a quick chat about budgeting with a partner
  • a question for a pension professional or
  • introducing the concept of savings to a child.

‘Start the conversation’ offers a first step towards action.
