Along with a boom in cruise tourism, cruise lines are making strides in reaching their goal of net-zero emissions by 2050. The positive economic benefits are already being felt across Miami, home to the largest cruise companies in the world.
Join The Miami-Dade Beacon Council and Opportunity Miami on August 7th for an oceanside conversation on the future of the cruise industry and the economic impacts on Greater Miami, from job opportunities to helping to reach the County’s sustainability goals. Beacon Council CEO, Rodrick Miller will lead the conversation with Rick Sasso, chairman of MSC Cruises North America.
The conversation will focus on the long-term sustainability commitments of MSC Cruises, its investment in Greater Miami, and (soon) having its new flagship – MSC World America – sailing from the company’s new state-of-the-art and world’s largest cruise terminal right here in Miami.
The event is part of Opportunity Miami’s ongoing series “Conversations on our Future” and will be held at The Beacon Council office from 10:00am-11:30am on Wednesday, August 7th.
How to find us: The Beacon Council is located at 80 SW 8th Street, Suite 2400, in the Brickell City Tower, also known as the Chase Building. The pedestrian entrance is on the corner of SW 9th Street and SW 1st Avenue (across from the Publix entrance). There is also a pedestrian ramp on SW 9th Street towards the back of the building.
**Parking: **There is street parking available in the area, as well as garage parking. For garage parking – the exact address to enter the garage is 86 SW 8th Street. To access the elevators to the Beacon Council – once you have parked, take the elevator down to the lobby, cross the hallway, and take the elevator to the 24th floor.
