This August, Contra.Joburg — Johannesburg’s most radical visual arts festival — returns under a bold new theme: “Expect the Unexpected.” This year’s edition promises a curated collision of surprise interventions and unscripted artistic experiences designed to disrupt expectations and expand the possibilities of visual art.

To help you move easily between spaces, a complimentary shuttle service will run throughout the day, looping between venues every 20 minutes. Parking is available at each site, with shuttle access from every stop.
Bringing kids - Children under 18 are free. Select your adult tickets first — you can then list how many children you want to bring. Unaccompanied minors are not allowed into the event.
