Sunday 10 November, 11am-6pm
Upper Wilson’s Creek, Mullumbimby
It is an honour to have Dr. Amber Gray joining us from the US for this potent Continuum workshop. Amber is a long-term Continuum teacher, human rights somatic psychologist, pioneering dance movement therapist and educator in trauma and polyvagal-informed movement therapies. See below to learn more about Amber and her extraordinary work.
This workshop is highly recommended for somatic practitioners of all kinds, dancers, yoga teachers and practitioners, therapists and more, for an opportunity to explore and deepen into the inherent wisdom of the body through the extraordinary practice of Continuum.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
”Our bones remember. Many ancient wisdom practices acknowledge the bones' ability to seed memory. Our bones are the last aspect of our physical presence to dissolve into earth. Bone is connective tissue and pathway of vibrational communication and healing. Bone is structure and fluid and matrix."
Continuum is a movement practice developed by Emilie Conrad, inspired by the fluid undulations of Haitian dance. The flow inherent in this practice inspires our body to move organically, beyond rigid and repetitive patterns of conditioned movement. This flow can ripple out into other aspects of our lives, inviting greater ease, comfort, range, rhythm, and possibility in all our movement, expression and action.
In this Continuum workshop, all levels of movement and Continuum experience are welcome. Exploring in our co-generated field of play, each one of us can self-choreograph to promote ease of movement. This movement practice supports our own body’s way of being. We can both renew and re-member through the soundscapes and movement sequences that invoke the spiralling dancers our bones truly are.
