About this Event
Aiming to represent the very best traditions of choral singing, Continuum’s singers are drawn from some of the finest choral institutions in the UK with many having met at University whilst singing in Trinity and St John’s College Choirs in Cambridge.
Continuum is a professional choir founded in 2018 by Harry Guthrie who states ‘I’m excited to be bringing Continuum to perform in Brecon for the first time. Inspired by the poetry of local Welsh poet, Henry Vaughan, we are delighted to be presenting a programme of English and Welsh choral music that is crafted around his poetry. The concert will culminate in Hubert Parry’s six Songs of Farewell written between 1916-18 which are among the final pieces that Parry wrote. The first song, My soul there is a country, sets words from Henry Vaughan’s Peace.’
