The University of Utah College of Pharmacy will be hosting two free continuing education events with Christopher Jerry, a renowned patient safety advocate on Thursday, November 7th and Friday, November 8, 2024. Please see the attached flyers for details and registration.Christopher Jerry experienced an unimaginable tragedy when his two-year-old daughter, Emily, passed away due to a fatal medication error in March 2006. In response, he founded the Emily Jerry Foundation to raise awareness about preventable medical errors, which recent estimates identify as the third leading cause of death in the United States. Over the past decade, Mr. Jerry has collaborated with numerous medical experts to modify core systems, processes, and protocols to enhance patient safety and ensure optimal outcomes.
Through his life's work, Mr. Jerry has become a relentless advocate for patient safety and clinicians.
