About the Workshop: In this workshop, we’ll explore the concept of building a “Base Reality” — the foundation of every scene. By slowing down and making simple choices, we'll establish the "Who, What, Where" right from the start, creating a clear context that anchors the action. Solidifying these details early on gives us the freedom to dive in and start playing with greater confidence, knowing we have a strong, shared understanding of the scene.
When and Where: This workshop runs from 12pm to 2:30pm on Saturday 2/1. The event is at 16 S Prince St Lancaster, in the Lancaster Improv Players' Theater.
About the Teacher: Matt Candio is a comedian, performer, and improv instructor. He began his comedy career in 2009 and has since studied at Upright Citizens Brigade (NYC), Magnet Theater (NYC), and The Second City (Chicago). In addition to teaching for the ArtsQuest Improv Comedy Program, he leads team building workshops for schools, businesses, and organizations. You can see Matt perform regularly at SteelStacks (Bethlehem, PA) in a number of comedy shows, including "We're Good, You're Great,” as well as The Duke Comedy Theatre (Beacon, NY) and various venues across New York City.
Pricing and Purchasing: This workshop costs $40.00 and that includes the fees. The workshop will be on sale until Friday 1/31 at noon. If you sign up for BOTH workshops you will qualify for a discount code. This discount is $10 off the second workshop you sign up for. This code will be emailed to you when you sign up for the first of your two workshops!
Refund Policy: We will not honor any refund requests made after Thursday 1/30.
Parking: On Saturdays much of the street parking is metered, so be mindful of where you park! The parking garages are open and cost $5 for the whole day! Steinman Garage, Prince St Garage, and Duke St Garage are recommended in that order!
