About this Event
Start the year dancing, connecting, and creating!
This contemporary dance choreography workshop is an introductory session for multicultural dancers interested in contemporary dance and curious to be part of a new performance project celebrating cultural diversity, movement, and shared humanity.
The workshop is designed as a stand-alone taster. This is an opportunity to explore the choreographic approach and experience a collaborative environment where culture is shared. Dancers who enjoy the workshop will be invited to continue into rehearsals, working towards a public performance outcome later that week.
The project brings together dancers from different cultural, linguistic, and movement backgrounds. Participants will be encouraged to draw on their own physical and cultural vocabulary, and experience how diverse styles and cultural gestures can live together in one choreography.
Who is encouraged to attend?
- Culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) dancers
- Dancers with basic to intermediate contemporary dance training
- Dancers of different ages, movement backgrounds, and stage experience
