October is a time of transition—and one of the best months to be at the Morton Arboretum. On October 3 you are invited to join us for a gently guided walk there in the transforming woods, “with all our senses alive.” Drawing on contemplative prayer practices, including Scripture meditation, we will “simply be present” with God and creation. There will be several short, slow walks with nature- and prayer-related prompts, pauses for rest and quiet reflection, and an outdoor tea ceremony to conclude. There will be time, and space, and beauty. You might think of it as a short prayer retreat in the company of trees. Nothing arduous, no prior experience required. Comfortable weather-appropriate clothing and walking shoes recommended. Light refreshment to accompany the tea.
Senses awakened, walking with God, what might you notice . . . outside . . . or within?
