We will gather again in Pedion ton Areos to dance together, share the space and state our support to the Palestinian people in this moment of extreme violence and injustice, by gathering donations to the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, a group of ships leaded by activists from many countries, sailing now to Gaza aiming to break the blockage of humanitarian aid and counteract the policy of starvation that is being exerted there at the moment.
Jamming at the park is a way to raise visibility to this cause and to share our dance/movement practice to a wider public.
*A Jam is a space of open/free practice, in this case focused on the practice of the dance form called Contact Improvisation. It is not a class or a guided practice. It's an open space for dancing, watching, entering, exiting freely, that we all hold together, in this case also focusing in manifesting our support to the Palestinian people through our dance, movement and presence
*Contact Improvisation is a dance form started in 1972 by the American choreographer Steve Paxton and other dancers. It proposes an improvised dialogue between bodies through touch, focusing on physical elements such as gravity, leverages, momentum, friction, centripetal and centrifugal forces, spirals, among others, that provide many possibilities for exploring and improvising.

Θα συναντηθούμε και πάλι στο Πεδίον του Άρεως για να χορέψουμε μαζί, να μοιραστούμε τον χώρο και να δηλώσουμε την υποστήριξή μας στον παλαιστινιακό λαό σε αυτή τη στιγμή ακραίας βίας και αδικίας, συγκεντρώνοντας δωρεές για τον Στόλο της Ελευθερίας (Freedom Flotilla Coalition), μια ομάδα πλοίων που καθοδηγείται από ακτιβιστές από πολλές χώρες και αυτή τη στιγμή πλέει προς τη Γάζα, με στόχο να σπάσει τον αποκλεισμό της ανθρωπιστικής βοήθειας και να αντισταθεί στην πολιτική της πείνας που ασκείται εκεί αυτή τη στιγμή.
To jamming στο πάρκο είναι ένας τρόπος να ενισχύσουμε την ορατότητα αυτού του σκοπού και να μοιραστούμε την πρακτική μας στο χορό/κίνηση με ένα ευρύτερο κοινό.
*Το Jam είναι ένας ανοιχτός/ελεύθερος χώρος πρακτικής, σε αυτή την περίπτωση εστιασμένος στην πρακτική της μορφής χορού που ονομάζεται Contact Improvisation. Δεν είναι μάθημα ή καθοδηγούμενη πρακτική. Είναι ένας χώρος ανοιχτός για χορό, για παρατήρηση, με ελεύθερη είσοδο και εξοδο σε αυτό, που τον συνδημιουργούμε όλοι μαζί – σε αυτή την περίπτωση εστιάζοντας και στο να εκφράσουμε την υποστήριξή μας προς τον παλαιστινιακό λαό μέσα από τον χορό, την κίνηση και την παρουσία μας.
*Το Contact Improvisation είναι μια μορφή χορού που ξεκίνησε το 1972 από τον Αμερικανό χορογράφο Steve Paxton και άλλους χορευτές. Προτείνει έναν αυτοσχεδιαστικό διάλογο μεταξύ των σωμάτων μέσω της αφής, εστιάζοντας σε φυσικά στοιχεία όπως - για να αναφέρουμε μερικά -την βαρύτητα, τα σημεία επαφής, το mοmentum, την τριβή, τις κεντρομόλες και φυγόκεντρες δυνάμεις, τις σπείρες που προσφέρουν πολλές δυνατότητες για εξερεύνηση και αυτοσχεδιασμό.
