About this Event
Contact Improvisation is a dynamic form of dance that focuses on the physical interaction between partners, exploring shared weight, momentum, and communication through touch. It invites participants to engage with their bodies and each other in a spontaneous and intuitive way, fostering an improvisational practice that emphasizes trust, responsiveness, and creativity in movement.
This workshop is perfect for anyone curious about Contact Improvisation but does not know how to get started or for experienced dancers who want to return to basics and ground their practice in solid foundations. We’ll begin by connecting with the floor and building skills in physical listening by exploring solo improvised dances. Then move into simple, guided exercises with a partner to explore rolling, sliding, pressure and following the point of contact.
Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this event is perfect for anyone looking to explore movement, connection, and creativity with their bodies.
Learn how to listen and respond to your body and others in a safe and supportive environment. No need to worry about getting everything perfect - just come as you are and enjoy the process!
