About this Event
Climate change impacts do not affect everyone equally. Marginalized groups suffer the most, even though they have often contributed the least to the problem. Addressing this imbalance is essential for a fair and sustainable future.
On July 3, 2024, students from TU Berlin, along with the Kiosk of Solidarity and Bauhaus Earth, invite you to join us in discussing climate justice in architecture and urban planning.
To advance this dialogue, we aim to bring together various urban practitioners and planners of the new generation (i.e., Urbane Praxis, Architects for Future, nexture⁺, and many others) together with the interested public to formulate concrete demands and actions. During the workshop we will receive input from experts from the fields of law, economics, social distribution, and utopia. Together with Tomma Suki from Torhaus Berlin e.V. will exhibit our results in a performative discussion by the end of the day. More details will be published in the coming weeks.
Interested in participating? Register for the workshop here! Participation is limited to 15 spots.
The workshop will be followed by a tour of the construction site of the Bauhaus Earth pavilion. Nina Peters and Killian Schneider from Bauhaus Earth will present the research pavilion as an example of sustainable, climate-friendly construction in practice. The tour will focus on issues of climate justice in planning and will be held in English.
The day will end with a casual public get-together with cold drinks, idea exchanges, and networking opportunities.
The venue is outdoors, so please dress for the weather. In case of rain or storm, an alternative venue will be organised at short notice.
The event will be held in English.
This event is supported by ReBuilt, a Bauhaus Earth project funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection.
