The Valley Players proudly present "Constellations", Nick Payne’s play about fate, free will, love, multiverse theory, and honey, running October 11-20 at the Munson Memorial Library (1046 South East Street, Amherst, MA), 7pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 2pm on Sundays.
"Constellations" begins when Marianne, a theoretical physicist, and Roland, a beekeeper, first meet at a barbecue. The action then splinters into multiple lines of action that explore the different possibilities of their relationship, touching on fidelity, infidelity, marriage, cancer, ballroom dancing, quantum mechanics, beekeeping, and more. Branching across timelines, through humor and through tears, "Constellations" asks questions about choice and chance, love and death, and how the bond between two people can change with the change of just a single word or decision.
Tickets are priced on a pay-what-you-can system, but reservations are strongly recommended due to limited seating (to ensure everyone who wants to see the show has the chance to, reservations are limited to 8 tickets per individual). Reservation guarantees admission but not a specific seat: seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations that are not claimed within 10 minutes of curtain may be released to waiting patrons.
50% of net ticket revenue will be donated to Cancer Connection.
Constellations runs 1 hour, 15 minutes. There is no intermission. Please note that this play contains adult language and themes and may not be appropriate for all ages.
Free parking is available in the lot behind the adjacent South Church (please do not park in church-only designated spots).
The Munson Memorial Library is handicapped-accessible, but note that the public restroom is downstairs (stairs are equipped with a stairlift).
