Game Boy (DMG) Backlit Class (8 ppl max)Length: one class, 3-4 hours (one session)
Last date of registration is 9/28 so kits may be ordered for the class in a timely manner.
Description:
This will be an interactive class, where we will provide Game Boy (OG) boards and backlit kits with cases for participants. We will walk through how to take apart the Game Boy (OG) and help you with installation and testing. If you do not solder, we will complete those few steps for you.
Participants will walk away with a working Game Boy in a new case with a backlit screen installed. Registration cost will include the board and kit. Advanced registration is needed so kits can be ordered and arrive in time for the class.
As with any repair, unexpected things may happen during repair, and some danger is present for any repair.
We have enough Game Boy (OG) boards (for this first class) to make sure everyone ends up with a working system. We will offer a discount if you bring your own Game Boy (OG) but not if you bring your own kit. There are a lot of different kits so we will order them for everyone to make sure our instructions match the kit.

Registration:
Cost: $350 per person, 3 hours minimum. Registration begins now, ends 9/28. If you have your own candidate Game Boy, the price is $325 per person.
--> If you already have a Light, Pocket, Color, Advance, or SP, please call or visit. We accommodate other types of Game Boys (and even provide the same console discount) on a case-by-case basis.
Each student will provide their own tools (e.g., screwdrivers, etc.). Roman Games can sell you a set of electronics screwdrivers (additional charge) or a soldering kit when you register.
Please note: students with no soldering experience will not need to buy or bring a soldering wand.
Registration will be at the store with payment due (cash). No refunds unless we are unable to hold or reschedule the event.
Early registrants may select the color of the Game Boy case.
We may have openings for late registration and reserve the right to apply a late fee. Late registrants will receive whatever the default color is selected for the Game Boy case.
Additional Details:
Videography and photos will not be allowed during the assembly of the Game Boy. However, pens, paper, and digital notes are welcome. Photos and videos of your completed project are welcome.
Parents may assist minors (14-17) with a project if they only want to pay for one kit. Parents or guardians must stay with their kids during the class.
We reserve the right to refuse participants who work for competitors (e.g., game resellers), and registration will include disclosure of current employer. However, we will reserve the right to exclude or remove anyone advertising for other stores/firms or discussing politics. This will be a friendly forum.
There is danger involved working with electronics or the soldering tools, Therefore, a waiver will be signed at registration time. We reserve the right to change terms for each class offered.
