About this Event
This session provides information about the process of considering and preparing for residential care. It includes strategies to help family carers to decide when residential care may be needed, information on the process for application, and understanding the emotional impact of the change.
You will gain knowledge in:
- recognising the signs that residential care may be needed
- identifying your criteria of good care and the steps to access residential care
- sharing the care with the staff and other residents in the aged care home.
Suitable for: Family carers and family members of people living with dementia.
Dementia Australia's facilitators have specialist dementia knowledge, skills and experience. This session is delivered interactively, you will be encouraged to share your experiences alongside other participants giving you an opportunity to develop new support networks.

It is ideal if you can bring your ticket. However, if you have completed your registration we will have your details and forgetting your ticket won’t be a problem.
