Join us for our next Conservation Workshop Series on Sunday, January 12th, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy an engaging and eye-opening workshop where research intern Melody Carrion Nunez will explore the surprising connection between plastic pollution and wildlife. Through her research at Deering Estate, Melody investigates how terrestrial mammals, like raccoons and coyotes, may be consuming plastics and what this means for local ecosystems.
Using fieldwork findings and hands-on methods, she’ll share how animal scat can reveal hidden impacts of human activity on wildlife diets.
This workshop is perfect for anyone curious about conservation, pollution, and the innovative ways scientists uncover the effects of plastic in our environment. The workshops are held at the Visitor Center Exhibit Room.
