Join AMHS for a presentation by Stefano Scafetta, retired senior conservator at the Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM). Stefano will describe how his choice of career was inspired by the work of the “mud angels” of the 1966 flood in Florence. He will start by showing a 17-minute documentary about the “mud angels” who were Florida college students. Stefano will then show some of the conservation that he has done on works by four American painters, including John Singer Sargent, during his 34-year career at the SAAM.
Catered by Manoli Canoli Restaurant. The menu includes antipasto, garden salad, lasagna, Italian bread, and mini cannolis. Water, soda, coffee, and tea are included.
