Enjoy some social time with coffee, tea and treats followed by a conservation focused program. Iowa is an important migratory corridor with hundreds of millions of birds flying through the state each spring and fall during migration. Understanding the timing, routes, and habitat use of migration birds can help inform management decisions on the ground to support these species. In Iowa, the Motus Wildlife Tracking System helps us track migrating birds and learn more about where they come from and where they are headed and ways we can help them on their journeys. Join Anna Buckardt Thomas, Iowa DNR Avian Ecologist, to learn about the Iowa Motus Network, and what we're learning about bird migration in Iowa.
Cost is $3.00 for nature center members or $5.00 for nonmembers.
Registration deadline October 18 by 4 pm. Call 641-423-5309 to register.
