Join me for a creative experiment! Ever listen to an awesome song that also left you feeling sad, mad, or heartbroken?
I believe every note my heart sings is important. I write and share songs that express a full range of emotion. That said, I realize it’s challenging to experience difficult emotions.
When I practice, I tend to play my “heavy” stuff first, then move on to more uplifting songs. I feel like I’m moving up the frequencies, so by the end I feel peaceful and invigorated. And I’ve still honoured and experienced those denser frequencies as part of my practice.
My idea for this experience is to try this out together! I’ll start by playing my own songs in sequence from heavier to lighter, then we’ll sing kirtan songs together, and then we will finish with a deeply nourishing sound bath.
A bit more detail on this flow: The concert, kirtan, and then sound bath will flow into each other, and be approximately 1.5 hours: approx 20 minutes concert, 20 to 30 minutes kirtan, and 40-50 minutes sound bath. Then there is an optional vegan potluck, which will start around 5:30 pm. GF appreciated, too.
I am so grateful my fabulous friend, Andrew Sass, will host the event at his place. AND will play with me!
The event is by donation.
There is limited space, so please RSVP by DM by Friday 3 Oct, 5 pm EDT.
With love,
Vela
