After watching the national service or attending a large gathering in the morning, we come together to remember those from our village who have fallen during times of war.
Our Remembrance Sunday Service is a solemn and heartfelt time to honour those who have given their lives in the service of others. Together, we pause to remember the courage and sacrifice of men and women in war and conflict, and to pray for peace in our world today. Through readings, prayers, silence, and the laying of wreaths, we give thanks for their bravery and commit ourselves to building a future founded on justice and reconciliation. As we gather in gratitude and hope, we remember that “greater love has no one than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
