CONnections is a one-day mini-convention exploring the art, mystery, and power of communication in speculative fiction and games.Held at the BCIT Burnaby Campus (Buildings SE02 & SE06), we invite you to join us in a shared exploration of how meaning is made—and lost—across galaxies, dimensions, cultures, and minds, and considering the many forms of connection in our favourite media:
• How do aliens, dimension hoppers, and ancient wizards understand each other?
• What happens when language fails?
• Can a visual symbol really carry more truth than a thousand words?
• How do you say hello to a species you can’t understand?
• How do silence, censorship, or hidden texts shape worldbuilding and tension?
