About this Event

Connecting with Nature: Religion and Environmental Philosophy (Nature Walk)

Come join us for an enlightening nature walk and philosophical conversation, in which we explore ways in which religious practices and traditions might better connect us to the natural world. Following a brief introduction from leading academics in religion and philosophy - including John Cottingham and Fiona Ellis - participants will be encouraged to continue the conversation as we explore the grounds of Richmond Park.

The walk will be guided by a expert in pilgrimage, Nick Mayhew-Smith, who will introduce us to the spiritual significance of certain sites around Richmond Park. The walk will also feature a guided walking mediation led by lecturer and poet, Tim Atkins.

This event is only one half of the "Connecting with Nature - Religion and Environment" event. The second half of the event will be a film showing held at Roehampton University. You can book your (free) tickets to the film showing . Participants are encouraged to come to both the walk and the film-showing, but are also welcome to only attend one of these events.
